The Geraldine Walkway
“Riverside rhododendrons and New Zealand native bush”
Within 50m of the vicarage is access to the Geraldine Walkway accessed via the adjoining Barker’s Store & Eatery. Don’t miss this beautiful walk along the Waihi River, through rhododendron dells and mature deciduous trees, to the North end of Talbot St (the main street). Then either return along Talbot St (30 minutes), or cross over and enjoy the 15 minute Matai Track through the beautiful native bush in Talbot Forest, before returning back to the Vicarage along Talbot St which is the commercial centre of Geraldine. It may take 45 minutes of walking plus shopping extra! Geraldine’s main street offers an eclectic mix of speciality shopping, art galleries, museums and hospitality.
