You will be picked up from The Vicarage Geraldine, and travel via Peel Forest and up the mighty Rangitata River Valley to visit the historic Mesopotamia sheep station located in the heart of the Southern Alps. The 4WD vehicle will take you high on station tracks through the deer park where you may also see Himalayan Thar. You will understand why this landscape was chosen as the site for Edoras and Helm's Deep in the "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy. Picnic lunch & refreshments provided. Highlights can include a short walk in Peel Forest Park and a visit to the historic Mount Peel Station Church.
